The DBU study concept — as individual as you are.
The DBU — Digital Business University of Applied Sciences — is your state-recognized university for an innovative degree program that prepares you for the digital world of tomorrow. Our unique semi-virtual learning concept combines the flexibility of online studies with the personal flair of optional on-campus sessions. You get the best of both worlds: modern, digital teaching paired with one-on-one support in a close-knit community. Flexible scheduling means your degree fits around work, family, or both. Study at the DBU and help shape the digital future — personal, flexible, and always close to your goals.
An innovative study concept
You shape the future of digital transformation together with us. Your studies start digitally on our online learning platform. All course content is digitally prepared — with learning videos and podcasts from your professors, academic literature as e-books, the latest research articles, digital handouts, and more. You connect with fellow students and professors in virtual classrooms, forums, and chats to deepen module content and ask questions. Important to know: learning videos are produced exclusively for your module and kept current with the latest academic discussions. You can watch the compact videos 24/7. With your DBU degree, you stay informed and learn alongside your community about the latest trends in digital business.
Guided online forums and virtual conference rooms
The DBU takes a competency-based approach to teaching. Your professors are available to you in guided online forums and virtual conference rooms whenever you need them — for clarifying questions, sharpening your thinking, or going deeper on a topic together.
How studying at the DBU works
You take five modules per semester — so far so good. But: you take them one after another, not in parallel. Each module runs in a compact format of four to eight weeks. You focus fully on one topic, complete the module, and move on to the next. No overloaded timetables, no parallel exams — just deep, structured learning.
Laser-focused
One module at a time. No overloaded timetables, no parallel exams — just four to eight weeks of deep, structured learning per subject.

Real career value
Work with the same tools the industry uses — GitHub, Databricks, Tableau. Backed by Kienbaum and a strong network of corporate partners.
